1. Population density is measured in persons per square mile.
2. The land area measurement used to calculate population density excludes lakes and other water areas within.
3. The 2000 and 2010 population values used to calculate population density represent OFM adjusted/corrected federal census counts.
4. The 2001 to 2009 population values used to calculate population density are derived from OFM's intercensal population estimate series.
5. The 2011 to present population values used to calculate population density are derived from OFM's postcensal population estimate series.
6. By using these data the user agrees that the Washington State Office of Financial Management shall not be liable for any activity involving these data with regard to lost profits or savings or any other consequential damages; or the fitness for use of the data for a particular purpose; or the installation of the data, its use, or the results obtained. The 2021 estimates in this table were revised November 30, 2021 after the 2020 Census P.L. 94-171 became available. These 2021 estimates supersede the estimates OFM released on June 30, 2021.
