Professional License Transactions by Department of Licensing

This dataset shows counts of original, renewal, and reinstatement professional license transactions from July 2020 through the end of the last complete month.

  • Original transactions are first-time issuances of licenses.
  • Renewal transactions represent a continuation of licensing privileges.
  • Reinstatement transactions occur when previously lapsed licensing privileges have been reactivated.

1. This data includes the following transaction types:
2. Original transactions are first-time issuances of licenses.
3. Renewal transactions represent a continuation of licensing privileges.
4. Reinstatement transactions occur when previously lapsed licensing privileges have been reactivated.
5. Beginning with January 2023 data, this dataset has been expanded to include licenses regardless of where the licensee resides. Prior to this, data was limited to licensees with a Washington State address. This change has significantly increased the number of licenses included.
6. Due to system issues, transactions for January and February 2022 are lower than expected.
