Department of Licensing's Business Licenses Related to the Transportation Industry

This is a point-in-time list of business licenses within the transportation industries related to Washington State Department of Licensing. However, this does not include business licenses associated with the trucking industry.

This dataset includes some licenses for industry types such as taxis and limousines, vehicles, and public transports.

1. This dataset includes the following business license statuses. Please note that the license status is subject to change and is only true for the date the data was collected:
2. 1) Active – license currently in effect. 2) Expired – license has not been renewed for eligibility to do business. 3) Held – license is in a holding period. 4) Pending – license is awaiting verification. 5) Terminated – no longer eligible to do business. 6) Suspended – privileges have been temporarily revoked due to compliance issues.
3. The data is manually entered into the system and may include misspellings or unexpected variation. For example, COEUR D ALENE, COEURD'ALENE, and COEUR D' ALENE are all variations of Coeur d'Alene that appear in the dataset.
4. While bond information is included in this dataset, not every license type requires a bond to be on record. One bond can cover multiple license types and may not be reflected for each individual record. The bond information displayed is subject to change and is only true for the date the data was collected.
5. In this dataset, you may encounter the date 12/31/9999. This is not a typo or an error.  It is used when a specific date does not yet exist, is unknown, or the date is not needed for the record.
